  Student Email Policy
Student Email - Live@Edu

Every registered student will automatically have an email account and network account created for them within 2 weeks of scheduling courses.

University policy requires students to use and maintain their university email account as it is an official means of communication. Students are not allowed to forward their university mail to another account. Doing so makes your email susceptible to your other account's spam filter and does not guarantee you will receive your email.

If you would like to see what to expect the first time you log in to your Live@EDU email account or would like to be guided through the process, see the Logging in to Live@EDU for the first time tutorial.

Note: You may configure another email client to check your email. In addition, you may setup devices (PDAs, smart phones) to check your mail. Visit the configuration page for instruction!

It is very important that you know your userID and password. You need these to log into lab and classroom computers!

Log into Live@EDU using:
•  Your email address which is your userID@huskies.bloomu.edu.
•  Your password. (See note below for important information about your password.)

Student UserID Info:

  • If student account was originally created on or before October 31, 2008, your userID was converted to the new format on May 13, 2009. Your new userID consists of student initials (2 or 3 letters) followed by a 5-digit random number.
  • If student account was created on or after November 1, 2008 user ID consists of student initials (2 or 3 letters) followed by a 5-digit random number.
  • Verify student user ID by visiting the student directory lookup page. Look yourself up in the database and you will find your user ID (the information in front of the @ sign.)

Student Password Info:

  • Your campus network account (used to log into computers, access MyWeb and P drives, and for everything other than Live@EDU mail) and your Live@EDU account actually have separate passwords, though they can always be set to the same password which makes them appear to be the same password.
  • By default, your campus network account password and your Live@EDU account password are set to the same default password that can be found on STINF.
  • To change or reset your password, go to http://reset.bloomu.edu/

NOTE: Your UserID and default password can be found in STINF under the "Biographical" button. Log into STINF using your student ID and 4-digit PIN number. (Your PIN number can be found on your bill.)
•  If you don't know your PIN number to log into STINF, please visit the Registrar's office in the Student Services Center. You may also call the Registrar's Office at 570-389-4263 between the hours of 8:00 to 4:30 Eastern time for PIN assistance.

Your full email address (so others can email you) consists of your userID followed by @huskies.bloomu.edu.

For more detailed information on Live@EDU, including how to change your default password, please visit the links on the right side of this page, under the heading of Resource Materials.
