Welcome!

Welcome to the Faculty Information System (FCINF), a menu driven system designed to give faculty access to data useful in advising students. The course specific information from the mainframe is now available via the web.

The Faculty Information System (FCINF) is a fully integrated menu-driven system that provides faculty members with access to a variety of student and course information.

Using FCINF, a faculty member can view class lists and grade verifications or update their own office hours. FCINF also contains course request counts and actual enrollment counts. This information is valuable when planning course offerings for upcoming semesters.

FCINF is also a powerful tool to be used in advising students. It is complementary to the Student Information System (STINF) and Curriculum Advisement and Progress System (CAPS), and shares the same databases.

By using the "hold" function of FCINF, a faculty member can require that their advisees visit them before scheduling.

To access FCINF, your browser must be set to enable Java and accept all cookies. If you experience problems, please follow directions below under the Problems Logging In Section below.

Java Virtual Machine Error

If FCINF does not load at all, or you see a little red X , like the one below, possibly Java virtual machine is not loaded on your computer. Download Java by clicking here.

Note: You must use a Java version earlier than 6.10. If you have Java on your computer, but FCINF still is not working, uninstall your current version and install it again using the link above.

MAC User Problems

MAC OS 9.x Users - Netscape Navigator 4.7, which is available on most campus computers or can easily be downloaded, provides effective access to the mainframe computer, STINF, and FCINF.

MAC OS X Users - Netscape Navigator 4.7 also works fine in the Classic mode under OS X and should be used to access the mainframe programs STINF and FCINF. (The OS X version of both Netscape and Microsoft Explorer, however, do not work with OS X and should be avoided for accessing the mainframe programs.)
