Streaming media is a technology that enables you to include audio, video and other multimedia files that students will be able to view or listen to on a computer without having to download the file. Your students will need the Flash Player to view these files.

Go to http://media.bloomu.edu to upload your media file(s). Note: you will need to click Login on the far right of the screen to begin. To upload a media file, go to My Media - Upload Media. Instructions and documentation will be available soon.

How does it work?

The instructor completes the Fair Use Checklist (must be signed and sent to Regina Bobak - AL 233). Then submit the video, audio or multimedia file via the Upload link. The Instructional Media and Design Center staff will verify the Fair Use Checklist and media file. A URL is then provided to the instructor to post either within Blackboard or send via email to students. Please allow 2 to 5 working days from the receipt of the Fair Use Checklist.

Why use streaming media in teaching?
	Streaming media provides the option of making course materials available outside of scheduled class times. Visit the University of Wisconsin's streaming media website to see how faculty at that institution are using streaming media in their teaching.
